Dr. Peter Scovell
is elected chairman at International Datacasting, replacing longtime chair Denzil Doyle, who will continue as director of the board. “The company has just finished a good year and is poised for great thing,” says Denzil, CEO of consultancy Doyletech Corp. and SCAN columnist. “This is a good time for new leadership to help take us to the next step.” A member of IDC's board of directors for the last four years, Peter has more than 25 years of experience managing technology enterprises. Formerly a senior executive with Nortel’s fixed wireless business, he is currently head of Newlyn Technologies, an international technology consultancy he founded in 1999, advising on all aspects of the communications and information technology sectors from broad strategy to investment advice. He also serves on the board of several companies, including ComDev. Peter is a chartered physicist and a fellow of the Institute of Physics. He earned a PhD in theoretical physics from the University of Leeds and has more than 30 semiconductor, photonics and wireless patents to his name.
