Colorado-based Merrick & Company opens a new office in Ottawa. Under the guidance of president Paul Langevin, Merrick’s director of laboratory design services for the past five years, Merrick Canada ULC will provide architecture and engineering services, and turnkey solutions for various facility types including laboratories and research facilities. “We are really pleased to have a permanent presence in Canada,” says Merrick’s president and CEO Ralph Christie. “As the spread of infectious diseases and bioterrorist threats has no boundaries, our expertise in the high containment field has become invaluable to other countries.” The employee-owned firm plans to hire approximately 20 local personnel within the next two years, including engineers and architects, and marketing and administration staff.
