Wi-LAN and March strike IP partnership

Wi-LAN Inc. and March NetworksWiLan.jpg have entered into an agreement under which Wi-LAN will act as the digital surveillance company’s exclusive licensing agent for its issued patents on its media management and filtering applications. In turn, the IP licenser will take a five-year patent licence from Wi-LAN for its wireless products. “As the demand for video streaming,March%5B1%5D.jpg content management and handset television accelerates, there will be a greater need for the management and control of that data. This patent portfolio strengthens our existing portfolio as it relates to handsets, says Jim Skippen, Wi-LAN’s CEO. “As well, we are able to create value for March Networks by licensing this intellectual property portfolio on their behalf, while they maintain focus on their core markets of video surveillance and business optimization.”
