Emergis Inc. has its Oacis EMPI (enterprise master patient index) application installed at CHEO, linking the hospital with fourteen other institutions across Eastern Ontario who have also deployed the software. Oacis EMPI compares demographic data from patient records in multiple health care facilities to create more complete records, saving time and cost while reducing patient wait-times. Established as MPACT Immedia in 1988, the Quebec-based Emergis holds offices on Kanata’s March Road.
