Mosaid enters patent deal with LSI

Mosaid Technologies Inc. is given exclusive Mosaid-logo-98X64.JPGrights to sub-license more than 50 LSI patents, including rights for digital signal processors, microprocessors and semiconductor processing technology. The company will pay LSI a percentage of the net royalty revenue accruing to Mosaid when licensing the patents. “Today’s agreement aligns with our strategy to continue building a robust patent portfolio through exclusive licences, acquisitions and patents on internally developed technology,” says Mosaid CEO John Lindgren. The agreement follows from Mosaid’s February winning bid for 20 WiFi and WiMAX patents from Pennsylvania-based Agere Systems, which has since merged with LSI.
