Telesat Canada posted net earnings of $22.9 million in Q1, 6% higher than a year earlier. Operating revenue rose 3.1% to $121.6 million. The satellite systems provider says its improved revenue was due in large part to growth in its two-way broadband service and its Telipro Internet-protocol based network satellite solution. Telesat recently launched its 17th satellite, the new Anik F3.
