Zarlink in red at year’s end

Zarlink Semiconductor slumps through another poor quarter, recording a net loss of (all figures in $US) $900,000 ($.01 a share), compared to $3.7 million ($0.2 a share) in the same period a year earlier. Revenues dropped 18.4% to $32 million in Q4, following a disappointing third quarter when sales dipped 8.8% from Q3, 2006 figures to $34.1 million. Net income for the year was down 67.6% to $15.8 million ($.11 a share), derived from $142.6 million in revenue, a 1.6% decrease from fiscal 2006. Results took into account the $3.6 million Zarlink gained from selling its packet-switching product line to Conexant Systems Inc.
