is appointed chairman of the board at SiGe Semiconductor. Fred comes to SiGe with extensive industry experience gained during 33 years at Motorola, where he was president and CEO of the company’s semiconductor products sector when he retired in 2004. His career with the communications product giant saw him leading the Canadian semiconductor operations, then moving to Europe where he held positions of increasing responsibility that led to his heading the European semiconductor group. Fred also serves on the boards of Applied Micro Circuits, Gennum Corp. and Tundra Semiconductor. He holds BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Waterloo.
