Local companies selected for medical technology program

Two Ottawa companies have been chosen to participate in a province-wide program to stimulate growth in Ontario’s medical and assistive technologies industry. Best Medical Canada, in conjunction with Ottawa Hospital Regional Cancer Centre, is developing a device that measures the position of dosimeters during cancer radiation therapy. In the meantime, GestureTek Inc. is working with the uOttawa and McGill University to enhance its interactive rehabilitation and exercise system and form guidelines for clinicians using the system. The projects are among seven selected to take part in the program, an initiative of the Health Technology Exchange, NRC-IRAP and Ontario Centres of Excellence Inc.
