Wi-LAN finds third client for licence program

IP licencer Wi-LAN Inc. signs a third company to its Early Licence Program, which offers preferential rates on patent licences to those who come on WiLan.jpgboard by the deadline. The company has given no particulars about the deal or named its new program customer, apart from saying that the company operates within the communications and consumer electronics sectors, where Wi-LAN has set its focus. Noting participants Nokia and March Networks, who signed on correspondingly in December and April, Wi-LAN CEO Jim Skippen said in a statement that the new signing “demonstrates ongoing momentum in our patent licensing program” and added that the company was confident it would enroll more licensees before the program’s July 31 deadline.
