Nortel contract extended by T-Mobile

Nortel signs a US$150 million multi-year contract extension to supply Bellevue, Wash.-based T-Mobile USA with GSM wireless equipment and associated professional services to continue to upgrade T-Mobile’s network and improve service to its 26 million wireless subscribers across the US. The extension is the latest deal in a long-standing relationship between the two companies. Nortel has supported GSM network planning and deployment for T-Mobile USA since the company’s inception as VoiceStream Wireless in 1995.
