International Datacasting Corp. adds new Internet-protocol software to its satellite products after licensing it from with Cyprus-based company K.S. Transplaneta Ltd. IDC says it will use the software in its SuperFlex broadband datacasting to distribute multimedia content over a full range of IP-based satellite distribution networks, especially IP television. “[The software] expands and strengthens our intellectual property portfolio while reducing our costs and improving our competitive advantage for large networks,” said IDC’s CEO Ron Clifton. “This agreement will give us the ability to offer a more complete end-to-end solution for new networks while at the same time capturing a key technology that will add value to our business.”
