Ottawa-based OZ Optics is given an award by the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) for its success in entering new foreign markets. The fibre optics product maker made off with the silver prize in the market expansion category of the OCC’s 2007 Ontario Global Traders Awards (OGTA), which were recently held in Toronto. “Ontario has been our home since 1987 and we have found the province, and Ottawa in particular, to be an excellent place from which to launch and grow a high-tech manufacturing business,” says Omur Sezerman, CEO of OZ Optics. The company designs and manufactures handheld test and measurement equipment for the fibre optic market.
