$1.5-million deal
Ottawa-based Espial Group Inc. receives a US$1.5-million order for its Evo IPTV Service Platform from a major European communication services provider. The unnamed customer will use the middleware technology to provide hybrid cable-IPTV to its more than 1.5 million subscribers. “We have been committed from the beginning to building an interactive services platform that would adopt the rules of the Internet age without sacrificing performance, open standards, scalability, or cost – all mandatory requirements for operators looking for a next-generation IPTV service platform,” says Espial’s CEO Jaison Dolvane. “This contract award demonstrates the strength and maturity of our Evo IPTV Service Platform and growing applications suite.” Espial’s middleware provides management applications for such services as live TV, video-on-demand and electronic program guide.
