NRC funding
International Datacasting Corporation is awarded $460,000 from the National Research Council Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP) to develop new Internet Protocol TV (IPTV). Along with financial support, which is repayable at the end of the project, NRC-IRAP will provide IDC with technical and business advice aimed at increasing the company’s share of satellite-based, content distribution equipment market. “This support will augment our (own) investment and, crucially, it will help us accelerate the time to market for some important new IPTV products and enhancements,” states Ron Clifton, IDC president and CEO. Deployed in more than 100 countries to date, IDC's products enable IP-based radio and television broadcasting, distance learning, digital signage and digital cinema, as well as IPTV distribution.
