Ottawa-based Overlay.TV scores $4.6 million in Series-A financing, which the startup will use to commercialize its Internet advertising solution. Overlay.TV, which plans to launch its product on Valentine’s Day, received the venture capital funding from Celtic House Venture Partners, EdgeStone Capital Partners and Tech Capital Partners. Overlay.TV’s Internet video-advertising platform gives online video viewers an option to receive “overlays” which provide information about video content and allows users to purchase products that appear in the video by clicking directly on the object.
