$8-million win
Calian Technologies’ SED Systems business signs an $8-million contract to provide new ground earth stations to London, England-based global satellite communications network owner and operator Inmarsat. “We are delighted to have been selected by Inmarsat and to be working with them and the other stakeholders in the program,” says SED president Brent McConnell. “This opportunity builds on our long-term relationship with Inmarsat and our extensive experience with mobile satellite communications gateways.” The new ground stations will support voice communications, low-speed data and safety services over Inmarsat-4 satellites. The services are used by most the world’s airlines, as well as thousands of corporate jets, government VIP aircraft and coastguard and defense agencies.
