CEO’s companies bought

Plaintree Systems Inc. finalizes its $20-million acquisition of Arnprior’s Hypernetics Ltd. and the parent company of Triodetic Building Products Inc. Plaintree.JPGand its subsidiaries, both controlled by Plaintree CEO William David Watson II and Nora Watson. The Ottawa-based developer of optical wireless equipment bought all shares of avionics firm Hypernetics and 4439112 Canada, which through a subsidiary owns all shares of the Triodetic group of companies. Plaintree paid $9 million in class-A shares for Hypernetics and $11 million in cash and shares for 4439112 Canada Inc. The two companies will operate as divisions of Plaintree.
