Patents for PC maker
Patent licenser Wi-LAN strikes a deal with Texas-based tablet PC maker Motion Computing for its wireless patents. The Ottawa-based firm
says the world’s top vendor of slate tablet PCs (as ranked by IDC) has signed a six-year running royalty licensing agreement related to the patents.. Motion Computing will also compensate Wi-LAN for previous use of the patents. “The agreement that we negotiated with Motion Computing, a leading vendor of tablet PCs, serves to further grow our recurring revenue and reinforce the value of our intellectual property,” says Wi-LAN’s VP of wireless technologies Andrew Parolin. “As the determined efforts of our wireless licensing team continue, we look forward to signing additional agreements in the near future.”
