Third buy
Enablence Technologies Inc. is buying Wave7 Optics Inc, it’s third acquisition in just over a year. Ottawa-based Enablence, a maker of
components for the fibre-to-the-home market, says it has signed a definitive agreement to buy the Georgia-based business for US$10.5 million and 2,078,385 common shares. “This is an exciting acquisition for Enablence as Wave7 Optics is a recognized global leader in the FTTH systems market with a customer base of over a hundred FTTH service providers,” says Enablence CEO Arvind Chhatbar. Enablence finalized its $35-million acquisition of optical wafer maker ANDevices Inc. in February, and in March 2007 bought Swiss photodiode manufacturer Albis Optoelectronics for $6.2 million.
