Allen-Vanguard Corp. secures a US$10-million contract for electronic countermeasures equipment from an unspecified Commonwealth customer. The company recently reported an expected $50-million deal for the jammers, which interfere with radio signals used to remotely detonate IEDs (improvised explosive devices). “We are pleased to see this pending order progress to a formal contract,” says CEO David Luxton. “This additional order underlines the continued confidence in our battle-proven counter-IED systems and services and we are proud to be supporting the vital mission of a key Commonwealth customer.” The gear is scheduled to be delivered by the end of 2008.
