$5-million add-on
Plaintree Systems’ recent acquisition of Triodetic bears fruit, as the Arnprior-based firm picks up a $5-million follow-on deal with an unnamed BC mining company. Plaintree says its architectural metal division has been awarded the second phase of a contract for engineering, supplying and supervising the installation of two industrial mining dome enclosures for one of the world’s largest mining companies. Plaintree bought Triodetic for $20 million in April, six months after it secured the initial, $2.1-million part of the building project, now close to completion. The two domes, each wider in diameter than a football field is long, will eventually cover working stockpiles at one of the customer’s mines.
