Exocortex Technologies partners with Montreal-based Softimage Co. to jointly develop 3D fluid simulation solutions. Excorotex, a graphics software maker, says the two companies will work on interactive fluid simulation software using Softimage's ICE modeling platform. “Softimage has always been an innovator, and we are delighted to be working with them to advance the state of the art for 3D visual effects - for linear media, such as film and television, interactive and gaming applications,” says Exocortex founder and CEO Ben Houston. The partners plan to introduce new techniques for solving interaction between fluids and objects in a 3D environment, which they hope will be adopted by the gaming industry, government agencies, intelligence communities and the legal community.
