Hire Immigrants Ottawa (HIO) and the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce launch a reference guide aimed at helping employers recruit and integrate foreign trained professionals into the workforce. The Employer’s Guide to Integrating Immigrants into the Workplace is particularly intended for small- and medium-sized businesses who typically have limited human resources capabilities. Funded by the Government of Ontario, HIO is a local initiative that brings together employers, immigrant agencies and stakeholders to remove the systemic barriers that have prevented skilled immigrants from entering the Ottawa labour force.
