Receivers for the north
International Datacasting Corp. receives an order for its satellite receivers from Internet service provider SSI Micro, based in
Yellowknife. The ISP will use IDC’s equipment to upgrade its high-speed, satellite-based Internet service for more than 60 northern communities. “We are pleased to be working with SSI Micro, a leader in the community, and proud that our products continue to be used to provide much-needed connectivity across Northern Canada,” says CEO Ron Clifton. “Our SFX3101 DVB-S2 satellite receivers continue to lead the way in the market with features that include ease of connectivity to terrestrial Internet protocol networks as well as advanced modulation and high-speed performance.” SSI Micro noted that the upgrade would result in a 3% to 7% gain in satellite efficiency.
