Japanese seller signed
Optical transport systems maker Optelian engages Tokyo-based telco equipment distributor JTS Corporation to sell and support its LightGAIN and LightPRO products throughout Japan. “The Japanese never settle for second best … we are confident that Optelian’s equipment will be extremely popular in Japan,” says Tomoji Kojima, CEO of JTS. In other news, Optelian’s LightGAIN is deployed by Alaska Power and Telephone to optimize fibre and link DSL platforms along a 22-mile point-to-point fibre link between Skagway and Haines, Alaska. Employee-owned AP&T serves over 12,000 customers in 30 communities from the Arctic Circle to the southernmost tip of SE Alaska.
