NCSS lands at German airport
Searidge Technologies Inc.’s IntelliDAR non-cooperative surveillance system (NCSS) is selected by Germany’s navigation service provider DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung and Cologne Bonn Airport to manage the airport’s ground traffic. Searidge says that, using camera sensors and video analytics, the NCSS will monitor airport apron areas and taxiways, giving the air traffic control tower real time “radar-like” track data as well as video data for improved situational awareness. The deployment will also allow DFS to further assess the system for possible use at other sites throughout Germany. “This installation presents a significant opportunity for Searidge. First, we are working with an industry leader with a fast growing operation and secondly, we believe this will be the start of a long-term partnership with DFS that will see our IntelliDAR-NCSS product widely accepted through out Europe,” says Moodie Cheikh, president, Searidge Technologies. Cologne Bonn Airport has recently seen a 92% increase in passengers, coinciding with the launch of low-cost carriers in the region.
