New lab in London
The National Research Council (NRC) opens a new research centre in London, Ont., which will develop new tools to help Canadian construction companies. Called the NRC Centre for Computer-assisted Construction Technologies (NRC-CCCT), it boasts a cutting-edge virtual reality lab with technologies specific to construction-related applications. In one project, NRC-CCCT researchers are using GPS-based tools that will allow construction companies to build steel frame structures more efficiently.
