Opening doors in UAE
uWaterloo president David Johnston attends ceremonies in the United Arab Emirates as UW prepares to deliver chemical and civil engineering programs at the Dubai Men’s College in Abu Dhabi beginning this fall. The programs will see students splitting four years of study between Canada and the UAE, taking courses for two years at the Abu Dhabi site before coming to uWaterloo to complete their degree. “Internationalization is at the core of the University of Waterloo’s Sixth Decade Plan, entitled ‘Pursuing Global Excellence and Seizing Opportunities for Canada’,” says Mr. Johnston, “We are committed to establishing a Waterloo presence overseas… This collaboration will help us bring Waterloo to the world, and the world to Waterloo.”
