the Ontario Technology Corridor
Ottorloo or noo?
by tony
Various and contesting reactions to the nickname Ottorloo, coined for the Ontario Technology Corridor extending from OTtawa through TORonto to WaterLOO. It just sort of tripped off my keyboard. Some people got into it right away. Fun, with some relevance if one thinks about it for a moment. Lends itself to T-shirt promotion. Others hate it. Call it silly, meaningless. They like it less in Waterloo than in Ottawa. Depends to some extent on which end of the corridor you're on.

Companies in the Ontario Technology Corridor, almost 6,000 of them, spanning the software, photonics, wireless, cleantech, digital media, life sciences, and microelectronics sectors, employ more than 250,000 people. There are almost 30 universities and colleges along the Ottorloo corridor.
