OTTAWA – Privately-held Tilcon Software Ltd. is swept up by competitor Wind River Systems after agreeing to a US$3.5 million merger. The California-based software firm, which has Ottawa operations, is buying Tilcon to gain access to its proprietary embedded graphical user interfaces, as well as clients such as Lockheed Martin, Siemens, MDS Nordion and the US Post Office. Tilcon’s technology helps developers create interfaces for a broad range of devices including medical products, driver information systems, consumer electronics and defence systems. The deal is expected to close by the end of February.
