Satellite products maker International Datacasting Corp. (IDC) receives an order for equipment to help build a digital cinema broadband distribution network for Hoyts Cinemas in Australia and New Zealand. The project, which will see IDC partner with Australia-based content distributor OmniCast, will deploy IDC’s SuperFlex SFX4104 Pro Video multimedia satellite receivers. Hoyts owns and operates 45 cinemas with more than 400 screens, all of which it is converting to the digital format that will accommodate the satellite-distributed content.
