New man at OTN helm
OTTAWA – Rick O’Connor is named president and a director of The Ottawa Network, a volunteer group focused on stimulating new opportunities in Ottawa’s tech community. A seasoned executive with 25 years of business experience, Mr. O’Connor is currently CEO of True Reckoning Corp., a consultancy that helps companies grow through strategic innovation. Prior to True Reckoning, Mr. O’Connor spent 15 years at Tundra Semiconductor as CTO and VP strategic marketing. He has also held positions in product management and design engineering at Newbridge, Canadian Marconi Company and Canadian Astronautics.“Joining The Ottawa Network at this time is a tremendous opportunity,” he says. “Because the current economy is creating significant pressure, we need more and better collaboration among our established local technology companies and potential start-ups to help address the issues. I believe The Ottawa Network is the right organization to help tackle some of the challenges.” OTN members will have their first opportunity to meet Mr. O’Connor in his new role at a Start Up - Drop In event Wednesday March 18, hosted by LaBarge Weinstein at 515 Legget Drive, Suite 800, Kanata. The event starts at 17:30.
