Big contract coming for OCC technology program

The Ottawa Convention Centre (OCC) is currently under redevelopment, which will transform the centre into a state-of-the-art convention facility OttConventionCtrB%26W137X44.jpgon the existing site in downtown Ottawa. "Utilizing state of the art technology" has a significant role in delivering cost-effective, best-in-class, and highly available convention services. On October 2, 2008, the OCC awarded PCL to design and build the new centre. Not included in PCL's scope are the infrastructure, systems and services necessary to deliver technology services to OCC staff, partners, clients and delegates. As such, the OCC is in the process of procuring the technology program for the new facility. The OCC is expecting the future technology and service-creation partner to design, build, finance and operate these services under a long-term arrangement; including revenue sharing of services sold to OCC clients and delegates. The OCC will be qualifying Vendors within the next few weeks and releasing proposal call documents shortly after. If you're interested in learning more about the OCC Technology Program, please contact Dean Henderson (dh@5degrees.ca).
