MOSAID signs first licence for latest patents
OTTAWA — MOSAID signs its first licence for communication technology acquired in February among a group of 300 patents. The company says an unnamed, “emerging player in the IP telephony market” has acquired a five-year licence to technology the licencee will use for its Internet-based PBX and VoIP telephones. Meanwhile, the company signs a four-year deal with Santa Clara-based Extreme Networks Inc. for wireless patents MOSAID acquired in 2007, when the company initially moved to become a pure-play patent licencer. Extreme is the seventh company to licence the patents.
