Phreesia expands Ottawa ops centre

Indig%2C%20Chaim%20Phreeisa84X148.jpgFueled by rapid U.S. growth, New York-based Phreesia plans to double the size of its Ottawa operations centre, creating 50 new high-tech positions in the coming months.
With US$25 million in venture capital raised, Phreesia is transforming the way patients check-in at doctors’ offices across the United States by automating patient check‐in, eliminating paper forms and reducing healthcare costs – a major mandate of President Obama’s new administration.
Phreesia opened the Ottawa Operations Centre in October 2007 and recently celebrated hiring its 50th employee. In late 2008, Phreesia relocated to a 15,000 sq. foot office space at 1 Hines Road in Kanata to support its rapid expansion and planned new hires. The Ottawa ops centre is critical to the company’s success, as it is responsible for recruiting and supporting thousands of physicians across 49 states. Ottawa job openings include account managers, practice analysts, tech support specialists, experience coordinators as well as administrative positions.
Chaim Indig, Phreesia's CEO and co-founder and a Canadian who attended Carleton University, comments that “I know first-hand the quality of the talent in the region, having been part of several technology companies [there]." Mr. Indig was recently recognized by Business Week Magazine and as one of their top young entrepreneurs.
