Atria network continues spreading with recent buy

Atria Networks LP acquires Halton Hills Fibre Optics Inc. from Halton Hills Community Energy Corp. The major fibre provider will soon connect Halton Hills, a municipality of about 56,000 west of Toronto, to its fibre-optic network, which the company says is one of the largest in Ontario. Atria hasn’t disclosed what it paid for HHFO, but last month town council agreed to sell the fibre division for $4.75 million. Established in 2005 by the merger of Kitchener-based FibreTech Telecommunications and Guelph FibreWired, Atria currently offers services in Markham, Kitchener-Waterloo, Ottawa, Guelph, Cambridge, Hamilton, Vaughan, Orangeville, Barrie, Aurora, Peterborough, Orillia, Owen Sound and Cornwall.
