DragonWave nets major Canadian network deal
OTTAWA/TORONTO – DragonWave Inc.’s technology will be deployed in a new nationwide 3G network, after being chosen by Globalive Wireless Management Corp. for the multimillion-dollar project. The Ottawa-headquartered company says its solution will be used to increase bandwidth for the high-speed packet network, which will provide voice, text and data services across Canada, except for Quebec. “This win represents our largest Canadian network to date and it is particularly pleasing that our solutions, which have been entirely developed in our Ottawa-based R&D facilities, will be used in our home market. This is an important showcase network for us,” says CEO Peter Allen. Toronto-based Globalive has to date invested $442 million in the project, and plans to launch wireless services in select markets beginning in 2010. Click here for more information.
