A community paper is not just about the community, it’s
also by the community. While editors and reporters at SCAN will be alert to what makes the sector tick,
they can’t be everywhere. We’ll never claim to know it
all.
But collectively the members of the community do know it
all, and some of what you know will interest others. So please share
through the columns of SCAN and by posting to SCANsite.
Send us news of your achievements, of your people (when they’re
hired, when they’re recognized by peers, when they solve the
difficult problem). We’re interested in who’s doing what
in Ontario’s high tech community and we look forward to hearing
from you.
At the apex of SCAN’s editorial team is a band
of distinguished and influential columnists, led by Denzil
Doyle CM, former CEO of Digital Equipment
of Canada and frequently referred to as the archangel of Silicon
Valley North; Fred Belaire, formerly secretary of
the Economic Council of Canada and chief economist
of Atomic Energy of Canada, who writes on intellectual
property and the knowledge economy; and technology marketing
guru Peter
Fillmore P. Eng.
Handling the bulk of news sifting and tracking biographical
detail is Greg Patterson, who was a writer for Silicon
Valley NORTH and is published in various Canadian
magazines (Maisonneuve, Ottawa Magazine) and newspapers (Ottawa
Citizen). You can reach Greg by Email at greg@scansite.ca.
The pleasure and honour of leading this editorial project
falls to me (I’ve left bio notes in the section Who
We Are And What We’re Doing). I’d be happy
to hear from you whenever you have news to spread.
Fare well.
Tony Patterson, Editor and CEO
